Spice is a modern Thai restaurant located on the West end of Magnolia Avenue. Open for lunch and dinner, entrees include Bangkok BBQ Pork, the pad ped, and the classic pad Thai. Spice is the new Thai restaurant from Fort Worth’s Thanpaisarnsamut family, partners in two Thai Rice ’n’ Noodle locations, Thai Select and Thailicious. The West Magnolia Avenue space is simple for now, but there is nothing simple about chefPakawalee “Jang” Comvieng’s best menu yet. Comvieng’s cooking is devoutly Thai homestyle, true to the family’s background in Chanthaburi on the Gulf of Thailand coast southeast of Bangkok and Pattaya.
Noteworthy menu items include the massaman curry (southern Thai spices in a chili paste with potatoes, onions and cashew nuts, simmered in coconut milk), the gai yang (Thai barbecue chicken served with tomatoes and cucumber) and the vermicelli garnished with bean sprouts, carrots, cucumber and lettuce in a sh sauce with your choice of protein.
